Summer 2016
We had a good time at the cottage last week. A few notes…
- There is an extra can of gas in the shed. It has not yet been mixed with oil but there is new oil on the shelf.
- There is no longer a gas grill at the cottage. The one we had was totally rusted out and there was a family of mice living in it. There are two charcoal grills, through.
- Two of our outdoor chairs are on their last legs (literally). The green striped one and the one that has the built in foot-stool will likely need to be replaced this summer.
- WES Corp bought two new inexpensive mattresses. They were intended for the annex since the ones on the bunk beds were in dire shape but decided to put them in the cottage and put the old ones from the cottage in the annex. Jacob and Lily liked the new ones but we found them a little soft. If people like the old ones better they can be swapped back. All four mattress have newer mattress covers on to protect them.
- We replaced the set of white flowered sheets since the elastic was spent and they didn’t stay on. The new sheets are all cotton and a little crunchy. We hope they will relax.
- We bought a metal movable ‘fire pit’ for campfires. We used it once while we were there and it worked great. We put it on the front lawn. It did scorch the grass a little so it would be best to put a board beneath it in the future.
